Salute To Veterans

At The Mattox Group, proudly Veteran-owned and Veteran-serving, we pause this Veterans Day to honor the courage and commitment of all who have worn the uniform in the United States Armed Forces. We recognize that freedom, security, and prosperity are rooted in the selfless service and daily sacrifice of those who answered the call.

Why Veterans Day Matters

November 11 holds deep meaning in our national story. On the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month” in 1918, the armistice ending World War I came into effect. Initially observed as Armistice Day, this date was repurposed in 1954 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Congress to become Veterans Day — broadening the holiday to honor all American Veterans, in wartime and peace.

It’s important to understand that Veterans Day is not simply a day off. It is a day of thanks and recognition focused on those living veterans whose service continues to underpin our nation’s future.

The Values We Share & Celebrate

Our firm was built on the same values inculcated in our military traditions:

  • Service — just as Veterans serve the nation, we serve you with dedication and integrity.

  • Honor — we honor the commitment of those who sacrifice for our nation, and their communities, families, and businesses; likewise, we honor our clients’ trust and goals.

  • Stewardship — Veterans protect and manage critical missions; we protect and manage your financial and tax strategies with the same mindset.

  • Community — the bonds formed in uniform mirror the collaborative relationship we strive to build with each client.

A Special Tribute to Veteran Clients & Colleagues

To every Veteran who has built a business, returned to civilian life, sacrificed for our freedoms, or continues to serve in the Reserve or Guard, we salute you. To our team members, colleagues, family-members of Veterans, and friends — thank you for your partnership and support.

  • If you are a Veteran client, we thank you for your service, and for choosing us as your trusted advisor.

  • If you are a spouse, child, caregiver or advocate of a Veteran, we recognize the unseen sacrifices behind the uniform and appreciate the resilience you bring.

  • If you are a colleague who also served, we stand beside you in dual service: to our country and to our clients.

How You Can Observe Veterans Day

Here are actionable ways, practical and meaningful, honor this day:

  • Reach out: Tell a Veteran “thank you” for their service. A simple gesture often means more than words.

  • Attend or support a local event: Whether a parade, ceremony, wreath-laying, or Veteran organization gathering — your presence matters.

  • Fly the flag: Display the American flag outside your home or business on Veterans Day as a show of gratitude and solidarity.

  • Offer your skills: If you’re a professional (tax advisor, accountant, lawyer, mentor), consider donating your time or expertise to a Veteran-owned business or service member transitioning back to civilian life.

  • Listen & learn: Take time to hear a Veteran’s story. Beyond the uniform is a person whose experience shapes our freedoms.

Why This Matters to You (Our Firm’s Promise)

As your trusted accounting and tax advisor, The Mattox Group commits not only to technical excellence, but also to the same sense of duty we learned in uniform: to always place your interests first, to anticipate needs, to plan effectively, and to act with honor. On Veterans Day, we recommit ourselves to that mission on your behalf.

In Closing

On this Veterans Day, we pause in gratitude, for the legacy of service, for the freedoms we enjoy, and for the opportunity to serve you.

To all Veterans: thank you for “answering the call.”
To our clients: thank you for entrusting us.
And to our community: let us carry forward the spirit of service and stewardship into every day of the year.

United in gratitude,
The Mattox Group
